Jade Cintron – June 28th 2020
Jade Cintron is an ESL & Theatre Teacherpreneur. She has returned to the New York / New Jersey / Philadelphia area from Barcelona. A proud Rutgers College 2009 graduate, Jade is now back at the university. She is serving her 6th summer at the Rutgers Summer Acting Conservatory as Associate Director. She also splits her time working at the Drexel Arts Administration department. Jade will complete her masters in Arts Administration with an emphasis in linguistic education and diversity in December.
Jack of All Trades and Master of None
Jade realized she was more of a “Jack of All Trades and Master of None”. As a result, Jade graduated from Rutgers with a double major in Theatre Arts & Journalism Media Studies. In addition, she also holds a double minor in Cultural Anthropology and Spanish. Many of her classmates and friends felt the need to jump into the job market post graduation. This was despite the impending economic crisis at the time. However, Jade realized she had different ideals and priorities which not many could wrap their head around. As a result, Jade felt the urge to move abroad post graduation. This desire was mainly due to an inspiring summer abroad in Salamanca, Spain.
Jade Cintron – Accreditation and Training
To facilitate this seemingly outlandish and temporary dream, Jade took action. She went on to earn her Teaching English as a Second Language certificate. This also known as a TEFL/TESOL certificate. She completed the certification in Barcelona, Spain. Jade ended up living in Barcelona for 8 years. It was in Spain where she taught English through theatre, song, and movement. She also worked on marketing and event coordination. Jade did this for different arts and linguistic groups. A true performer at heart, she has also had the pleasure of performing. She has appeared in a variety of plays, musicals, cabarets and other events while abroad.
She hadn’t expected to spend her entire 20’s in a completely different country. Despite this, nothing could have been more fitting or appropriate. Jade had the opportunity to travel to 30 different countries before turning 30. She has meet people of all walks of life. Jade also has backpacked across the world. In addition, she completed a work exchange for a summer in Sicily and main land Italy. She even took summer courses in Utrecht, Holland and Berlin, Germany. Jade hopes to inspire future generations using theatre to promote culture, travel, the English language and happiness.
